Linked Bank Account Verification
When you link an external bank account to UniFi using Plaid, we run an automatic verification to confirm ownership of the account. In some cases, a linked account may not pass verification even if you are the account holder.
Why does this happen?
Bank account verification is handled automatically by our security system. If certain details between your UniFi account and your external bank account don't match, the linked account may be marked as "Unverified" and cannot be used for transfers.
This is a security measure to protect your accounts. Unfortunately, we're not able to manually override this verification.
How to fund your UniFi account instead
If your linked bank account is unverified, you can still transfer money to UniFi by initiating the transfer directly from your bank. This works just like setting up any other external transfer or bill payment.
Step 1: Find your UniFi account details
- Open UniFi (app or website)
- From your dashboard, click or tap the account you want to fund
- Click or tap Account Details
- You'll see your account number and routing number
You can copy your details directly from this screen and paste them wherever you need.
Step 2: Initiate the transfer from your bank
- Log in to your bank's website or app
- Look for an option like "Transfer," "Send Money," or "Add External Account"
- Enter your UniFi account number and routing number
- Choose the amount you'd like to transfer
- Submit the transfer
The transfer typically takes 1–3 business days to arrive, depending on your bank.
Other ways to add money
If you'd prefer not to set up an external transfer, you can also fund your UniFi account using:
- Debit card — Add funds with your card, usually instant but can take up to 48 hours. A 3.5% processing fee applies, and the maximum gross amount (deposit + fee) is $500 per transaction.
- Apple Pay or Google Pay — Add funds directly from your mobile wallet
